Oasis Football Academy is a youth-focused sports and development organisation in Sierra Leone, committed to empowering disadvantaged boys through structured football training, education, and mentorship. We stand as a beacon of hope, discipline, and opportunity—transforming the lives of children and young people in Sierra Leone and beyond through the power of sport, education, and compassionate guidance.
Our work is rooted in the Central and Eastern communities of Freetown, where we provide structured football training, life-skills development, and safe recreational opportunities. We focus primarily on boys aged 12–17 from vulnerable backgrounds, including those affected by poverty, instability, and limited access to education. At Oasis, we provide an environment where dreams are nurtured, lives are reshaped, and a brighter future is built through teamwork, discipline, and purpose.
Every child deserves the opportunity to shine. Through Oasis Football Academy, we make that possible—one child, one goal, and one victory at a time.
In 2026, we have the honour of presenting an Under-16 Boys’ Team to participate in the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden—the world’s largest and most internationally diverse youth football tournament. This remarkable platform offers talented but disadvantaged boys a life-changing opportunity to gain international exposure, build confidence, and access opportunities far beyond their everyday reality.
Participation in this global tournament is not simply a sporting event; it is a transformative journey that will equip these boys with life skills, broaden their horizons, and inspire hope for a brighter future.
Oasis Sports Academy – Institutional Profile and Expression of Interest in the Gothia Cup 2027
On behalf of Oasis Sports Academy (OSA), I am pleased to submit our institutional profile for your consideration and to express our interest in registering our Under-17 boys’ and girls’ teams for the Gothia Cup 2027 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Established to transform the lives of disadvantaged young people through football, education, mentorship, and holistic development, Oasis Sports Academy has grown into a community-based Sport-for-Development organisation supporting over 145 boys and girls in Sierra Leone. Our programmes combine football training with academic support, leadership development, vocational education, health and wellbeing, and safeguarding, ensuring that young people are equipped to succeed both on and off the pitch.
Despite the challenges encountered during our preparations for the Gothia Cup 2026, when our delegation was unable to participate following the refusal of entry visas, our commitment to providing international sporting opportunities for our young players remains unwavering. We have drawn valuable lessons from this experience and remain determined to pursue new opportunities that will enable our players to develop their talents, gain international exposure, and learn from young people from different cultures.
We would therefore be grateful for the opportunity to register our Under-17 boys’ and girls’ teams for the 2027 competition, subject to the tournament’s eligibility and registration requirements.
